Below are a few additional questions that people sometimes find helpful.
No. Many people begin counselling feeling unsure or not knowing where to start. You don’t need to arrive with a clear focus for counselling to be helpful.
There’s no set number of sessions. Some people choose short term counselling, while others work longer term. We can review this together as the work develops.
Yes. Counselling is confidential, with a few limited exceptions related to safety or legal requirements. These are explained clearly before counselling begins.
Yes. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.
Yes. I offer both face to face counselling in Buckinghamshire, and online counselling via Google Meet. You can also have sessions via phone call or WhatsApp.
I ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Further details can be found in the Terms and Conditions.
I work with young people over the age of 16, offering a safe, respectful, and age appropriate space. Confidentiality is explained clearly, including the limited situations where information may need to be shared to support safety.
Confidentiality is an important part of the counselling process. I explain this carefully so everyone understands what is private, alongside the limited situations where information may need to be shared for safety.
Where appropriate, I am happy to discuss general themes or support needs, while always respecting the young person’s right to confidentiality.
