No. Many people begin counselling feeling unsure or not knowing where to start. You don’t need to arrive with a clear focus for counselling to be helpful.

How long does counselling last?

There’s no set number of sessions. Some people choose short term counselling, while others work longer term. We can review this together as the work develops.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. Counselling is confidential, with a few limited exceptions related to safety or legal requirements. These are explained clearly before counselling begins.

Are you a BACP registered counsellor?

Yes. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes. I offer both face to face counselling in Buckinghamshire and online counselling via Google Meet.

When working with children and young people, confidentiality is an important part of the process. I explain clearly what is private and the limited situations where information may need to be shared to keep someone safe.

Where appropriate, I’m happy to discuss general themes or support needs with parents or carers, while respecting the young person’s right to confidentiality.
