How I Can Help
Counselling can support people in many different ways. Some people come with a clear sense of what they want to work on, while others arrive feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or unable to put things into words.

The areas below offer a guide to some of the experiences I work with. These are not fixed categories, and many people recognise parts of themselves in more than one.
Anxiety and Emotional Wellbeing
This can include times when emotions feel overwhelming, persistent, or difficult to manage. You may notice changes in your mood, energy, or ability to cope day to day.

This might include:
-
Anxiety or panic
-
Stress and overwhelm
-
Low mood or depression
-
Obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviours
-
Phobias
-
Work related stress
Grief, Loss and Life Changes
Loss isn’t always about bereavement. It can also involve changes to health, identity, relationships, or the future you imagined.

This might include:
-
Bereavement
-
Infertility
-
Pregnancy related experiences
-
Health related loss or diagnosis
-
Life transitions and adjustment
Trauma and Complex Needs
Some experiences can feel layered, ongoing, or hard to make sense of. Counselling can offer a steady space to explore these experiences safely and at your pace.

This might include:
-
Trauma or post traumatic stress
-
Abuse
-
Neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism
-
Disability or chronic health conditions
-
Addiction or substance dependency
-
Self harm
Relationships and Family Life
Relationships can be a source of support, but they can also feel confusing, painful, or draining. Counselling can offer space to explore patterns, boundaries, and communication.

This might include:
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Family dynamics
-
Parenting and child related issues
-
Separation or relationship change
-
Men’s or women’s issues
-
Difficulties around intimacy or connection
Identity, Self Worth and Growth
You may be questioning who you are, how you see yourself, or where you feel you belong. Counselling can support exploration without pressure to define or resolve everything.

This might include:
-
Self esteem and confidence
-
Identity issues
-
Sexual identity and sexuality
-
LGBTQ+ experiences
-
Personal development and self understanding
If what you’re experiencing isn’t listed here, that doesn’t mean counselling isn’t right for you. Many people come with things that are difficult to name.

If you’d like to talk things through before deciding, you can get in touch and we can explore what support might be most helpful.
